Dagenham and Redbridge 0 : 2 Northampton Town - Richards blunts the Daggers

Marc Richards' first half double ensured Northampton kept up their unbeaten streak against Dagenham with a 2-0 win at Victoria Road.
The Cobblers haven't loss in nine attempts against the Daggers and Richards put them on course when he side-footed Kaid Mohamed's centre past home goalkeeper Liam O'Brien on eight minutes.
Northampton stopper Matt Duke did tip over an Ashley Hemmings header, but the visitors were dominant for the most part and Richards doubled their lead on 23 minutes when Joel Byrom's corner found the striker and he directed his header low past O'Brien.
O'Brien was forced into action again to deny the lively Chris Hackett, while Richards was denied a hat-trick when Hackett's right-wing cross found him at the back post but Brian Saah cleared off the line.
The hosts had little luck in front of goal throughout the encounter, and the closest they came to finding a way back into the game came through Luke Howell, but his 25-yard effort was pushed over the bar by Duke.
