Man United transfer blow! Vidal is NOT FOR SALE, say Juventus

Bad news Manchester United fans, as Juventus have stated they have no intension of selling top target Arturo Vidal this summer.

The 27-year-old playmaker, who has three years left in his contract with the Italian champions, has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford having impressed during the World Cup.

New Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season, following a dismal campaign under axed boss David Moyes that saw the club miss out on European football for the first time in 25 years.

But Juve have insisted Chile star Vidal, who is thought to be happy at the Italian side, will only move this summer if he expresses a wish to leave.

'Vidal is a Juventus player and we have never put him up for sale,' Juventus club administrator Giuseppe Marotta told a press conference on Wednesday.

'A lot of clubs have asked for him but we have never sat down to negotiate.'

'We want to keep him.'

Marotta added: 'From experience, I know that a player is the one that decides his future.'

'Vidal has expressed many times how happy he is to remain in Turin and if that is confirmed, we will be happy to continue together.'
