Own goal ... Wayne Rooney's acting debut
IF Wayne Rooney's football career takes a turn for the worse, he could always join Vinnie Jones on the Hollywood auditions circuit.
The Man United striker has made his acting debut in a new advert for the club's official wine partner.
His performance is so wooden the producers of Hollyoaks will be on the phone desperately offering him a part.
The England man is joined in the commercial for Chilean wine Casillero del Diablo by team-mates Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra.
Giggsy's acting puts the other two to shame — not surprising after he has spent the past few years pretending to be a loyal husband.
A source said: "The players were selected at random but the chosen three were well up for it. It didn't take much rehearsing and they used it as a bit of a laugh. But Wayne will get some almighty stick in the dressing room."
He must have watched the best soap moments by Gus from EastEnders because his attempts at delivering suspense are almost as dodgy as Gary Neville's 'tache.
Looking out of the window of an Old Trafford executive box, the Red Devil's first line is: "Guys, we have a problem. The boss said that a new devil is arriving." Like a veteran stage performer, Giggs responds: "Is he well known? What do they say about him?"
