Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho praises LA Galaxy for 'wanting to play'

Despite the gulf in quality, after the match Madrid boss Jose Mourinho praised the way the Galaxy approached the game and explained that the Galaxy's intentions to play an exciting match are what makes the team an attractive option for preseason friendlies.
“I always like to play the Galaxy," he said. "They want to play football. They don’t like to play a defensive match, they want to give a good game to the fans, and because of that, that is the kind of team I like to play in preseason.”
The Galaxy did pull one goal back. Even with the lopsided scoreline and with Madrid holding the ball for long periods of the game, Bruce Arena's side showed intentions of getting forward throughout the match.
“They’re not obsessed with the result," Mourinho said. "Probably if the Galaxy wants to lose 1-0 or 2-0, probably they could do it. If they park the whole team in their own half. But they don’t want that. They want to play. Their players want to enjoy the match against Real Madrid.”
Mourinho also admitted that the USA is a good experience for players because of the space star players are afforded in public.
"They can travel where they want in the street, they can improve their relationships and enjoy the preseason," he said.
Real Madrid will now head to San Diego to face Chivas Guadalajara on Wednesday night.
