MANCHESTER City skipper Carlos Tevez has been given an FA Cup final ultimatum by Roberto Mancini.
Injured Tevez has been told he cannot lead City out against Stoke next month unless he gets at least one game under his belt before Wembley.
Boss Mancini has pencilled in City’s home game with Euro rivals Spurs on May 10, four days before the final, as a comeback game for Tevez.
Tevez is currently in Milan having extensive treatment on a hamstring injury after missing City’s semi-final win over Manchester United.
But Mancini warned: “He will need to play a game before Wembley.
“I hope Carlos can recover in time as we have four weeks with the FA Cup final and the last few games in the Premier League. His progress has been good.”
Tevez is having extensive sessions with the Argentine national team physio.
Mancini added: “I think he has confidence in his own physio. His injury is not easy to deal with and he always works with this physio. It is not unusual for this to happen.”
Defender Micah Richards is also sidelined and is out of City’s game at Blackburn on Monday.
Richards also missed the semi-final with a hamstring problem and Mancini said: “He is not ready yet. He needs another week to 10 days to recover.”
Mancini has told his players to put all thoughts of Wembley out of their minds with six league games left as they chase an automatic Champions League spot.
Mancini said: “I think if we win three or four of them we will have a good chance.
“If we have the right focus and concentration we will do it.”
