Shay Given, seen here playing for the Republic of Ireland against Wales in the Nations Cup, may have played his last game for Manchester City.
Shay Given may have played his last game for Manchester City after being told he needs an operation to repair a shoulder he has dislocated twice in the past 10 months.
Given, who is seeking a transfer this summer, will see a specialist in London on Wednesday but the scans have already been examined and the Republic of Ireland international is facing surgery that could rule him out for the season.
Nigel de Jong, the City midfielder, is still struggling with an ankle injury and the Dutchman is expected to miss the Europa League tie against Aris Thessaloniki on Thursday and the Premier League game at home to Fulham on Sunday.
