ROME (AP)—Most AS Roma fans have been banned from attending the Italian Cup quarterfinal against Juventus next week following crowd violence ahead of a game on Wednesday.
The ANSA news agency reported Thursday that the Committee for Security at Sporting Events stopped the sale of tickets to supporters from the Lazio region that surrounds Rome. However, fans with a certain supporters card will still be allowed to buy tickets.
The decision comes after police arrested six fans ahead of the Italian Cup match between Roma and city rival Lazio on Wednesday.
During the fighting, a teenage Lazio fan was stabbed and a window on the Lazio team bus was broken.
Roma beat city rival Lazio 2-1 to reach the quarterfinals.
