Posted Saturday, January 15, 2011 by PA
Cowdenbeath lost their fifth game in succession after they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Morton.
Goals from David O'Brien, Allan Jenkins and Brian Graham were enough to give the home side a comfortable victory at Cappielow Park and move above Cowdenbeath in the table.
O'Brien opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when he fired high into the net from Derek Lyle's right-wing cross.
Jenkins doubled Morton's lead nine minutes after the break with a shot from the edge of the box that flew past Cowdenbeath goalkeeper David Hay.
Graham made the game safe just three minutes later when he latched onto a pass from Jenkins and tapped in from close range.
Graham and Lyle both had chances to increase Morton's lead but were denied by Hay.
