SAO PAULO (AP)—Ronaldinho says he is excited to be returning to the Brazilian national team for the first time in more than a year.

Ronaldinho says “just the thought of wearing” the famous yellow jersey again makes him “extremely happy.”

Ronaldinho hasn’t played for Brazil since a World Cup qualifier against Peru in 2009.

The midfielder, who played in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups but was left out of the squad for this year’s tournament in South Africa, was called up by coach Mano Menezes for Brazil’s friendly against Argentina on Nov. 17 in Doha, Qatar.

Ronaldinho also said on his official blog on Monday that “to play against Argentina is always special.”
