SEVILLE, Spain (AP)—Sevilla winger Jesus Navas will undergo ankle surgery this week after aggravating an injury during a training session on Monday.
The Spain forward is scheduled for arthroscopic surgery on Thursday and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, the club said.
The World Cup winner has not played since Sept. 16 when he hurt his left leg during a Europa League loss to French club PSG.
The 24-year-old scored 10 goals in all competitions last season and helped Sevilla win the Copa del Rey.
The Spanish league club also said goalkeeper Andres Palop is expected to return to training this week following a leg injury.
