Brechin moved second in Division Two after beating bottom-of-the-table Dumbarton 3-1 at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium.

The Sons took the lead in the 36th minute when Callum Booth fired past Dumbarton keeper Michael White from 12 yards and David McKenna doubled the advantage less than four minutes later from 12 yards.

Derek Carcary pulled one back for Dumbarton in the 73rd minute with the goal of the game. He picked up the ball 35 yards from goal, shifted it to his left and then fired an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net.

But Rory McAllister made the game safe in the 88th minute, heading home James Redman`s cross from close range.
