Hodgson will not employ defensive tactics, says Scotland international
Darren Fletcher of Manchester United celebrates scoring
Darren Fletcher believes that Manchester United need to revive their "killer instinct" when they take on Liverpool this weekend.
The Red Devils have a date with their rivals on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford, having drawn three of their last four games in all competitions.
Recently, Sir Alex Ferguson's men had a 3-1 lead over Everton at Goodison Park, before conceding two late goals that saw them drop two points. And the following encounter - in the Champions League - against Rangers produced no goals at all, as the Glaswegian club's defensive style of play paid off with a point.
Now the Scotland international insists that United only need to rediscover their killer instinct, while believing that the Merseyside club will be too proud to come out with the kind of tactics that Gers employed at Old Trafford.
"What we’re missing just now is the killer instinct," said Fletcher, according to The Mirror. "We need to change that.
"Liverpool’s history will not allow them to put nine men behind the ball."
