PIENAAR: Could sign for Man City
MANCHESTER CITY have joined the race for Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar.
City are now battling Tottenham for the £15m-rated South Africa star, as they prepare for next season's assault on the Premier League title.
Everton chief David Moyes does not want to lose Pienaar, 28. But with only a year left on his contract, Moyes may be forced to sell after the World Cup.
Spurs have Champions League football to offer the player next season but cannot compete with City's super-sized salaries.
City are also trying to close a £20m deal for Barcelona midfielder YaYa Toure and may also move for Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Barca are keen to offload Ibrahimovic as they attempt to raise the cash to sign Cesc Fabregas.
Ibrahimovic has made it clear to Barca he only wants to sign for a team in the Champions League, but Mancini is a bargaining tool after the pair worked together at Inter Milan.
