Manchester City are keen to secure the services of Aston Villa's James Milner.
Manchester City are poised to make a £24m offer for Aston Villa's James Milner to secure the midfielder before he goes on England World Cup duty.
The club are mindful that Fabio Capello, the England coach, has said there should be no player negotiations during the tournament. City will move quickly and they expect Chelsea to weigh in with an offer. They expect the west London club to match their price and believe Aston Villa will be looking closer to £30m to seal the deal, according to the Daily Mail.
The England midfielder has had a good season with his club but City believe Randy Lerner, the Villa chairman, will be willing to cash in on the former Leeds United and Newcastle United player.
