Ayr`s survival bid takes dent

Ayr's hopes of moving away from danger were dealt a blow as they went down to a 2-1 defeat to Dunfermline.
United occupy the relegation play-off spot and the loss leaves them four points from the safety of eighth.
Brian Reid's team had started strongly at Somerset Park but they were undone by Ross Campbell's 39th-minute opener from David Graham's pull-back.
The hosts showed great spirit to fight back and draw level when Tom McManus found room in the box to smash home on the stroke of half-time.
But Dunfermline are looking to keep apace with the top two and their winner came thanks to Steven McDougall's neatly-taken strike eight minutes after the restart.
Ayr pressed hard for a level but the Pars held on for victory.
