Malta 1-2 Finland: Victory For Visitors At Ta'Qali Stadium

There was penalties aplenty tonight in Malta as the home side welcomed Finland for one of tonight's many international friendly matches.
The game started well as Michael Mifsud, a Manchester United target in times well passed, stood over the spot as the hosts were awarded a penalty after just 12 minutes. The former Coventry striker failed to put his shot past the able hands of Peter Enckelman though, and the game continued goalless.
Andrew Cohen then managed a wonderful run down his flank before deliver the ball into the box. Daniel Bogdanovic rose high, but he only served to knock the ball into the path of Mifsud, who was all to happy to find the net and make up for his earlier error.
The scales were soon evened out after the break when Roman Eremenko was given task of taking the set piece when the visitors were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute.
That seemed to be all it took to put a dampener on the Maltese players' moods though, as the heads went down after the goal, allowing Mika Vayrynen to make it 2-1 only 3 minutes later.
