Ballack doubt for Germany

Germany captain Michael Ballack is doubtful for Wednesday's final World Cup qualifier against Finland after sustaining an ankle injury in Russia on Saturday night.

The 33-year-old Chelsea midfielder picked up the knock in the first half but played on for 90 minutes to help Joachim Low's side clinch a 1-0 win at the Luzhniki Stadium to secure their place in South Africa next year.

Ballack will see a doctor in his homeland to assess the extent of the damage.
